What you should know about pool deck repair

Pool Deck Repair That Restores Safety And Protects Your Pool Investment

Concrete pool decks are constantly exposed to water, heat, and the expansive clay soils that define Middle Tennessee's ground conditions. When pool deck slabs settle, they create uneven edges at the waterline that are both a safety hazard and an aesthetic problem. Ground Up Foundation Repair lifts and levels settled pool deck concrete using expanding polyurethane foam, the ideal material for pool deck applications because it is completely waterproof and will not wash out.

Pool Deck Problems We Solve

  • Settled slab sections: Panels that have dropped away from the pool coping or adjacent sections
  • Pooling water: Low spots on the deck that collect water instead of draining away from the pool
  • Cracked expansion joints: Open joints between panels and at the pool coping
  • Uneven coping transitions: Height differences at the edge of the pool that create a slip and trip risk

If your pool deck has settled sections or cracked joints, call us at (615) 880-6449 for a free inspection before the problem gets worse.

$600–$3,000+ depending on deck size, number of settled panels, and the extent of joint sealing required. Typical cost range for this service, depending on scope and site conditions.
When this isn't the fix: Pool deck lifting is not appropriate when the pool shell itself has shifted or when coping stones have failed structurally. Those conditions require a pool contractor's evaluation before concrete work proceeds.

[ 02 ]  How It Works

What to expect, start to finish

Pool Deck Inspection

We assess each settled panel, measure elevation differences, evaluate crack patterns in joints and slab surfaces, and identify drainage issues contributing to ongoing settlement.

Drill Injection Ports

Small holes are drilled through settled deck panels at precise locations, positioned away from the pool shell and coping.

Lift With Waterproof Polyurethane Foam

Polyurethane foam is injected beneath each settled section, filling voids and lifting the panel back to the target grade. The foam cures waterproof.

Seal Joints And Finish

Expansion joints and cracks are sealed with NexusPro flexible sealant. Injection ports are patched and the deck surface is cleaned. The pool area is ready for use the same day.

Pool decks are actually a great candidate for foam lifting because the foam is completely waterproof. Mudjacking around a pool is a bad idea, that slurry will wash out over time. Foam fills the void, locks in place, and stays there no matter how much water the deck sees.

[ 04 ]  FAQ

Pool Deck Repair questions

Yes, when done by an experienced contractor. Foam injection is a controlled process. We position injection ports carefully away from the pool shell and coping and monitor lift throughout the process.

No. Polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete slab and expands to fill the void below it. It does not travel laterally into the pool water.

Pool deck lifting and joint sealing projects typically range from $600 to $3,000 or more depending on how many panels have settled and how much joint sealing is required. We provide a written estimate after the free inspection.

Yes. We seal these joints with NexusPro flexible sealant, which is designed to flex with seasonal concrete movement without cracking again. A properly sealed coping joint also keeps water from working its way beneath the deck slab.

Polyurethane foam cures within minutes and achieves full strength within a few hours. In most cases the pool deck is ready for foot traffic the same day repairs are completed.
