Concrete Lifting & Leveling

Polyurethane foam is injected beneath sinking concrete slabs to fill voids, lift the surface back to grade, and stabilize it against future movement, without replacing the slab.

[ 06 ]  FAQ

Concrete Repair, answered

Nashville's red clay soil is the primary culprit. Clay expands when wet and shrinks when dry, that repeated cycle creates voids beneath concrete slabs and applies lateral pressure against foundation walls. Tree root decomposition, poor original compaction, erosion from downspout discharge, and freeze-thaw cycles also contribute. Understanding the cause is the first step in choosing the right repair.

In most cases, lifting is faster, less expensive, and less disruptive than replacement, assuming the slab itself is structurally sound. Polyurethane foam lifting costs a fraction of slab replacement, is completed in hours rather than days, and does not require the same cure time before use. We assess whether the slab is a good candidate for lifting during the free inspection.

Polyurethane foam performs optimally above 40°F and our crack sealants have similar temperature requirements. We can schedule repairs during Nashville's mild shoulder seasons year-round. We will advise if conditions on your scheduled day are outside the acceptable range for the materials involved.

No. Most cracked concrete in Nashville homes can be repaired rather than replaced. Crack sealing with flexible sealant, combined with foam lifting if settlement is present, restores the surface to safe and functional condition. Full replacement is warranted when the slab is broken in multiple pieces, severely deteriorated, or when the subgrade has failed so completely that lifting is not viable.

Polyurethane foam cures in 15 minutes and achieves full strength within a few hours. In most cases, you can drive on the lifted surface the same day the work is completed. We confirm timing based on the specific foam product used and temperature conditions on the day of installation.
