Installation Process
How we install crawl space structural repair
Full Crawl Space Inspection

Temporary Shoring

Failed support posts are replaced with new pressure-treated posts set on properly sized concrete footings. Settled or cracked piers are replaced with new concrete or adjustable steel support columns.
Beam Sistering or Replacement
Where the girder beam has deflected or decayed, we sister new pressure-treated lumber alongside it or replace the beam in sections while shoring carries the load. Re-leveling is done incrementally with hydraulic jacks.
Joist Reinforcement or Replacement
Damaged joists are sistered with new dimensional lumber fastened alongside, or removed and replaced when decay is too extensive. All new wood in the crawl space is pressure-treated or approved for crawl space exposure.

In most cases, yes. Structural repairs are performed from inside the crawl space, we access framing from below, leaving your finished flooring undisturbed. The exception is when a joist or subfloor section is so severely damaged that it must be accessed from above.
A typical repair, sistering joists, replacing posts, re-leveling a sagging beam, takes one to three days depending on the scope. Complex repairs involving full beam replacement or a large number of damaged joists may take longer.
Crawl space structural repairs do not require the home to be vacated. Work is confined to the crawl space. Some homeowners prefer to be absent during work hours for comfort reasons, but it is not a safety requirement.
