Crawl space water removal is the process of extracting standing or pooled water from the crawl space floor, assessing the scope of any damage caused, identifying the water source, and developing a plan to prevent recurrence. How we install crawl space water removal
Safe Assessment Entry
The crawl space is assessed for electrical hazards before entry. Any submerged electrical equipment is identified and the circuit is de-energized before workers enter the water.
Water Extraction
A submersible pump is positioned at the lowest point and connected to a discharge hose routed to a safe exterior location. Water is pumped out completely, including from any low areas or depressions in the floor.
Damage Assessment
After water removal, the crawl space is inspected for water contact with framing, insulation damage, mold beginning to establish, and any structural damage to footings or posts that may have been undermined.
Source Identification
The water entry point is identified through visual inspection, moisture meter readings on the stem wall, and review of site drainage conditions relative to the storm event.
Prevention Plan
Based on the source finding, appropriate permanent solutions are presented including interior drainage and sump pump, downspout extensions, surface drains, encapsulation, or a combination.
